Top Sports Apps on Android in Africa: Q3 2024 Performance

In the third quarter of 2024, the top sports apps on the Android platform in Africa showcased varying trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Data from Sensor Tower provides a closer look at these dynamics.

EA SPORTS FC™ Mobile Soccer displayed significant activity throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads peaked at over 440K at the end of September, while weekly revenue saw a decline from around $65K in early July to approximately $15K by the end of the quarter. Active users remained robust, peaking at about 4.9M in late September before settling at around 4.5M.

eFootball™ witnessed a steady rise in weekly revenue, reaching a high of roughly $32K mid-September. Downloads surged in early September with a peak of approximately 146K, and weekly active users also increased, closing the quarter at nearly 3.8M.

For EA SPORTS FC™ 25 Companion, there was a notable spike in revenue towards the end of the quarter, reaching about $65K. Downloads, however, decreased steadily from around 25K in July to just under 10K by the end of September. Active users showed a slight increase, peaking at approximately 437K mid-September.

8 Ball Pool experienced consistent revenue, with a peak of about $18K late in the quarter. Downloads fluctuated, with a high of nearly 199K in late September. Active users saw a gradual decline, ending the quarter at about 1.6M.

Lastly, F1 TV had modest performance metrics. Weekly revenue peaked at around $11K in late August, while downloads remained low, peaking at just over 2.7K. Active users fluctuated slightly, starting at around 8K and ending the quarter at about 5.4K.
